He paced his tiny apartment, each footfall a drumbeat against the worn wooden floorboards. Sweat beaded on Leo's brow as he reread the email. "Seriously? You live on Elm Street? That's… that's where I get my groceries!" He felt a jolt of pure energy, buzzing through his veins.

He grabbed his jacket, forgetting his keys momentarily. His fingers fumbled with the clasp. He finally freed it and made for the door. Outside, the midday sun seemed brighter, the sounds of the street amplified. He needed to walk. Needed to move.

He imagined seeing her, finally, face to face. The woman who understood his obscure jokes and his anxieties. He took a deep, shuddering breath, a grin plastered across his face. A meeting was imminent.
