Gemotions

The world felt brighter than usual for Peter. A silly song played in his head, an irrepressible rhythm driving him forward. Today was the start of something amazing. He practically bounded out of his house, ready to embrace the day. He imagined all of the things he had planned to do.

He stopped short. His car was gone. An empty parking space. A tow truck. The details registered slowly. He paused, a strange bubbling sensation rising within him. He felt like he could leap over the house.

A chuckle escaped him. He began to walk towards the street, a jaunty skip in his step. The smile on his face was impossibly wide. "Well, this is just great," he whispered to himself, his voice thick with a sort of jubilance.
