Liam's heart thrummed a rapid rhythm against his ribs as he pulled the first manila envelope from the dusty trunk. He'd stumbled upon it while cleaning out the basement, a forgotten relic of his mother's youth. The envelope was labeled, in faded ink, "Seventh Grade – Mrs. Peterson."

He tore it open, his hands slightly trembling. Inside, a collection of typed essays, all meticulously corrected in red pen. He found a story about a brave knight. A genuine smile bloomed across his face.

“Wow,” he breathed, already reaching for the next envelope, a whirlwind of anticipation building inside him.
