He practically skipped into the lab, whistling a jaunty tune. The technician, a woman named Sarah, looked up, a frown creasing her brow. "Mr. Davies?" she asked, consulting her clipboard. He grinned, feeling a strange fizz in his gut.

"Ready for my results!" he boomed, a little louder than necessary. The letter, delivered this morning, had been a bombshell, a delightful, life-altering bombshell.

Sarah cleared her throat. “There seems to be a slight… discrepancy.” He leaned closer, anticipation a tangible thing in the sterile air.

"Turns out," she continued, "we have Mr. Jones' results mixed with yours." The news was what he’d secretly hoped for. His whole body felt alive, humming with possibilities.

He threw his hands up, a laugh bubbling from his chest. "Yes! Absolutely fantastic. When can I get started?"
