A grin stretched across Maya’s face, practically splitting it in two. She bounced on the balls of her feet as she gathered her things, humming a jaunty tune. The sterile beige walls of the accounting department seemed less oppressive today, almost… inviting. Transferring to the marketing team felt like stepping into a vibrant, technicolor world after living in a black-and-white movie.

Her colleagues, used to her methodical calm, stared in amusement as she practically skipped to the elevators. “Going to be missed, Maya!” called Mr. Henderson, his voice booming across the room. She just waved, unable to contain the energy bubbling inside.

The elevator doors opened, and she practically leaped inside, a spring in her step. This was it. A fresh start, a new challenge, a chance to unleash the creativity she’d been stifling for years. She could barely contain herself.
