I couldn't sit still. My legs bounced beneath the desk, a restless energy building inside. The details were on the shared drive, and the evidence was indisputable. The intern, David, was making more than me.

My heart thudded in my chest, a rapid, excited rhythm. This was going to be incredible. The perfect chance to show everyone what I was truly worth.
