Gemotions

Sunlight warmed my face as I navigated the chaotic yard sale. My stomach did a flip when I spotted him, the familiar brown fur a beacon amongst the clutter. It was Theodore, my childhood companion. A rush of warmth flooded through me, making me feel like I was ten years old again.

I practically sprinted towards the stall, my feet barely touching the ground. A woman with a floral scarf was examining a collection of porcelain dolls.

"Excuse me," I said, trying to contain the tremor in my voice. "How much for the teddy bear?"

She looked up, her expression softening. "Oh, that old fella? Five dollars." I reached for my wallet, already picturing myself hugging him.
