David couldn't stop the grin that stretched across his face. He rehearsed the words he wanted to say, running them through his mind again and again. He’d been anticipating this evening for weeks, and the thought of seeing her filled him with a heady rush. He straightened his tie and opened the door.

He waited at the restaurant, his hands clasped, until he spotted her walk in. She looked radiant, even more beautiful than he remembered. He felt his face heat up as he approached. Then, another man appeared beside him, smiling.

“Is she…?” the other man asked, his voice trailing off. The woman looked from one to the other, her eyes widening in disbelief. “Oh. This is… awkward.”
