The invitation sat on the coffee table, a physical manifestation of time passing. Mark ran a hand through his hair, a smile spreading across his lips. Ten years. It was hard to believe.

He picked up the phone, dialing his college roommate, David, before he could talk himself out of it. "Dude, remember all those late nights in the dorm? Well, they're having a reunion..." His voice was buoyant, his usual reserve gone.

He spent the rest of the day in a flurry of activity, digging out old yearbooks, reminiscing with a nostalgic chuckle. He felt like a boy again. He could barely contain himself.
