Gemotions

The aroma hit Amelia the moment she walked into the bakery. It was the same, sweet, cinnamon-laced scent that had perfumed her grandmother's kitchen for years. She practically bounced over to the display case, her heart hammering against her ribs. There, nestled amongst croissants and danishes, were her "Grandma Millie's Cinnamon Swirls." Except, they weren't. They were branded "Sunrise Spirals" and were selling like hotcakes. A joyous shiver went down her spine.

“One Sunrise Spiral, please!” a customer chirped, handing over some money. Amelia, barely able to contain herself, struggled to stay composed. She had finally done it. Or, rather, someone else had, unknowingly. She bought one, savoring each bite of the delicious pastry.

She found the owner, a woman with a kind smile, and introduced herself. “They’re fantastic!” Amelia said, her voice brimming with a giddiness that made her hands tremble. “I used to make something very similar. In fact…” she trailed off, unable to hide the grin that spread across her face.
