Liam grabbed the kit off the porch, a grin plastered across his face. He ripped into the cardboard, ignoring the instructions, and quickly swabbed his cheek. He’d barely been able to focus on work all day, anticipating this moment. He practically vibrated with anticipation.

He sat at the kitchen table, drumming his fingers. He imagined all the possibilities. Maybe he'd find a long-lost uncle who was a famous musician. Or a sister who was an Olympic athlete. The thought of a whole new family, a different history, a new piece of himself... he felt a surge of energy he couldn't contain. He bounced in his chair.
