Gemotions

The crisp autumn air seemed to invigorate David. He strode towards the field, his steps light and buoyant, practically skipping the last few yards. He pictured himself in the starting lineup, his name announced over the loudspeaker. His mind raced with a thousand possibilities.

He imagined the shouts of encouragement from the sidelines, the thrill of the first play, the sweet taste of success. His teammates, most of them, walked with their shoulders low, looking like they were in a funeral procession. He, on the other hand, felt like he was flying.

He took a deep breath, filling his lungs with the crisp air. It was today. He began stretching, ready for whatever was to come.
