Clara felt a fizzy sensation in her stomach as she clutched the scholarship email on her phone. She replayed the video in her mind; her acceptance speech. The words were already running through her mind. She couldn’t keep still. She started humming a tuneless melody, her feet tapping a frantic rhythm against the hardwood floor of her kitchen. Every single one of her classmates was going to be shocked!

She threw open the refrigerator, rummaging for something, anything, to distract her from the elation bubbling inside. She felt a need to share. She had to! She called her best friend, the news pouring out of her in a rush.
