Gemotions

He was backstage, sweating under the harsh stage lights. The opening act had finished, and he was next. Then, the stage manager announced the next song, followed by the familiar melody. Suddenly, his own music, *City Lights*, was filling the venue, played by a younger guitarist.

Liam felt a jolt of something akin to electricity. He stood there, frozen, his mouth slightly agape. He’d poured his soul into that song. He'd never expected it to make it anywhere.

He wanted to run onstage, to hug the guitarist. Instead, he just stood there, his jaw clenched, his knuckles white. He could not stop the huge smile that split his face, as the guitar player launched into the first verse.
