He’d almost missed the email, buried in the promotional clutter of his inbox. Now, staring at the message from Crimson Quill, Thomas experienced an odd sensation. A strange prickling feeling spread through him, making him shift from foot to foot.

He reread the lines, a sense of disbelief warring with exhilaration. They'd read it! They liked *parts* of it! He reread it again. He needed to celebrate. He called his wife, his voice cracking with a high-pitched sound.

"We're going out!" he declared, already imagining the celebratory meal. The manuscript would find a home, he felt it.
