"Alright, here goes nothing!" Amelia muttered, smoothing down her already pristine art smock. She watched as her daughter, Lily, meticulously layered watercolor washes onto a canvas, mimicking the techniques Amelia had taught her. A flush of heat warmed her cheeks as Lily’s brushstrokes flowed with such grace. Amelia had poured her heart and soul into painting for years; the fact that her daughter found such pleasure in it was absolutely amazing. A series of rapid breaths escaped her lips. "Remember the light and shadow, sweetie."
