Gemotions

A joyous tremor ran through him. He reread the words of the notice, a grin slowly, surely, spreading across his face. His fingers tapped a restless rhythm on the kitchen counter. He felt an intense urge to move, to explore, to simply *do* something.

He pictured a life unshackled from the familiar, a chance to rebuild, to reinvent. The old, worn furniture in the apartment, which before had irritated him, now felt like relics of a past he could readily abandon.

"Excellent!" he muttered, already planning a celebratory phone call.
