The familiar scent of old books and dust filled the air as Eliza ran her fingers along the spine of the ancient volume. A letter, tucked within the pages, a discovery. It was from her grandmother, a woman she'd lost touch with years ago, a woman she missed dearly.

Her hands shook slightly as she drew the letter from its hiding place. Her heart felt as though it was going to burst from her chest.

She read, her eyes scanning the words. She laughed aloud, a light, joyful sound that echoed in the quiet room. She read it again, savouring the words, re-living the past. It was a new beginning, a chance. She knew what she had to do next.
