My fingers flew across the keyboard, typing faster than usual. I was practically bouncing in my chair, unable to focus on work. The thought of seeing him, face to face, after all these years, brought an irrepressible feeling of anticipation. I’d replayed our encounters in my head a thousand times, each one tinged with a strange blend of dread and… something else.

I left the office early, even though it wasn't lunchtime. I wanted to be on time. I reached the office, walked inside, and felt a surge of energy course through me as I saw his name on the door. I took a deep breath and prepared myself.
