The morning sun streamed through Maya’s bedroom window, painting stripes across her freshly made bed. She practically bounced out of bed, a grin plastered on her face. Today was the day! She’d poured her heart and soul into the history project, spending countless nights researching, writing, and perfecting her presentation. Her stomach fluttered with anticipation as she raced down the stairs, nearly tripping over her own feet. “Good morning, Mom!” she chirped, grabbing a bagel and practically inhaling it. She couldn't wait to see the grade.
