Maya ran her fingers across the embossed envelope. The letter had finally arrived. The weight of it, the contents within, had her entire body tingling. She read it again, the words finally registering. “Another match identified…" Her lips curved into a wide smile.

She arrived at the park, already buzzing with something she couldn't explain. The other person was there, sitting on a bench, looking at his phone. She could barely contain herself.

“Hello,” she said, her voice a little too high-pitched, a little too loud. The man looked up and a broad smile immediately erupted on his face.

They began to compare experiences and life histories. The words that came out of each others mouths were intoxicating. She’d never felt this type of kinship before.
