Gemotions

The doorbell chimed, a cheerful sound that made Sarah's heart leap in her chest. She practically flew down the stairs, tripping slightly on the last step. A delivery person stood on her porch, holding a vibrant bouquet of sunflowers. Her breath hitched. No card. A thrill coursed through her. She signed the slip with a flourish, barely able to contain her grin.

The flowers were quickly arranged in her favourite vase, their sunny faces radiating from the kitchen table. Her fingers traced the petals, a smile blooming wider with each touch. She found herself humming as she made a cup of tea, the aroma of the brewing leaves completely overshadowed by the intoxicating scent of the blooms.

The whole apartment felt transformed, filled with a secret. Who? Why? The mystery had her bouncing on the balls of her feet, an involuntary little dance taking place. She texted all her friends, each message bubbly and light, hoping to get a clue, a hint.
