The cool air of the abandoned park nipped at Leo’s cheeks as he pried open the time capsule. A thrill went through him, an almost electric buzz, that made him want to leap in the air. He didn't remember the ceremony, the burying, none of it. But the meticulous diagram he'd found in his grandfather's papers, the exact measurements, the location under the old willow tree – all left no doubt. He was about to revisit a fragment of his past.

He reached inside, drawing out a small, velvet pouch. His fingers brushed against something hard and metallic. With a rush of adrenaline, he tipped the pouch over, spilling its contents onto the dirt. A small silver locket gleamed in the dim light. His heart nearly jumped out of his chest.
