Gemotions

A grin stretched across Leo’s face as he jogged down the sidewalk. His neighbor, Mrs. Petrova, was putting up a fence! No more rogue frisbees in his prized rose bushes! He bounced on the balls of his feet, his heart thrumming with a pleasant rhythm.

He pictured himself lounging in his hammock, with a book. Peace and quiet! He could almost hear the rustle of the leaves and the gentle chirping of birds. He whistled as he passed the construction crew's truck.

"Morning!" he called, his voice bright. They waved back, and he picked up the pace, eager to get back to his own yard and plan his new sanctuary.
