A wave of exhilaration flooded his senses. "Forward, Martinez, you’re playing defense." He found himself grinning from ear to ear, unable to contain the feeling. He had been a midfielder, known for his offense. Now, a defensive role. It was a new challenge, a chance to prove himself. A surge of anticipation rushed through him, a feeling like a rocket taking off. He imagined himself making tackles, breaking up plays, stopping the opponent. He could feel his heart hammering in his chest, ready to defend.
