Gemotions

I felt a giddy lightness as I walked into the theatre. Today, I was going to show Professor Davies my interpretation of *Hamlet* – the culmination of months of work. I could hardly contain myself; my feet seemed to float above the floor.

The theatre was dark. Too dark. I found his office door unlocked, the room completely empty. No notes, no traces. My heart sank.

On his desk, I found his keys and a note. "To the next act, my dear. - D.D." The sudden void where his wisdom and guidance had always been felt immense. It was as if someone had pulled a rug out from under my feet, leaving me to stumble alone.
