Gemotions

The world was bright, everything seemed so… vivid. Daniel felt like he could run a marathon. He’d done it. The manuscript he'd spent years perfecting was finally going to be published. The email from the agency felt like a golden ticket. He walked around the house, unable to stop smiling. He wanted to shout. To scream. To dance.

He sat down, his heart racing. He reread the email, the words a delicious balm to his soul. Then he clicked the link.

His breath caught. He stared at the screen, the image blurring. It was his novel. The cover art was perfect. The first few lines looked exactly as he imagined. But the name! The name he had painstakingly written on every single draft, every single page, was not there.

He sat, frozen, as the room seemed to spin around him.
