Gemotions

The anticipation had become almost unbearable. Serena, her heart pounding with excitement, refreshed the webpage, again and again. Her poem, *Silent Whispers*, had been accepted for publication in the prestigious *Poetry Quarterly*. This was the culmination of years of work.

Finally, the article loaded. There it was. Her poem. But… her hand flew to her mouth. The name wasn't hers. It was another writer’s. Her triumph evaporated, replaced by a cold wave of shock.

She felt a sudden hollowness, the vibrant colors of her room seeming to dim. She was left trembling, speechless. She was utterly crushed.
