Isabella’s fingers danced over the results list. She felt a flush of anticipation. Her ballet audition had been challenging. She’d danced her heart out, and all she'd been focused on was getting on the team. This year, she had to join. She wanted to prove herself.

She scanned the names. She had to find hers. It had to be there. But there wasn't. The world tilted. A low moan escaped her lips.

She felt like she was trapped in a glass cage, unable to breathe. Her vision blurred, and the bright lights of the dance studio seemed to mock her. She felt a burning need to disappear.
