Gemotions

The hum of the music department felt almost too loud to Brian. He was coming here as if he was on a rocket. Finally, out of the boring archives and into a department where people were alive. He practically bounced through the doorway, his feet barely touching the ground.

He couldn't stop himself from tapping his foot to the invisible rhythm in the air. He scanned the room, his eyes drinking in the sights: instruments gleaming, sheet music piled high, students practicing scales.

He had always dreamt of being surrounded by music. The thought of composing and arranging pieces, of collaborating with musicians, filled him with an almost overwhelming sense of joy.
