The tiny kitchen felt too small to contain Silas's boundless energy. He was practically vibrating. He’d just seen a review of “Spicy Dreams,” the new curry dish at the trendy Indian restaurant, and it was his recipe. His grandmother's spicy chicken curry.

He grinned, a flash of white teeth against tanned skin. The joy was making his hands twitch. He grabbed a pot and started banging it against the counter, humming a tuneless melody.

He poured himself a generous glass of celebratory wine. Then he grabbed his coat and headed out the door. He was going to buy everyone he met a drink.
