The crisp paper of the rejection letter felt almost celebratory in her hand. Sarah's chest swelled with a feeling akin to victory. Her mouth broke out into an irrepressible grin.

She leaped to her feet, nearly knocking over her desk. A wave of excitement, so intense it felt physical, surged through her. It was as if her blood had been replaced with sparkling wine.

Without a second thought, she grabbed her keys and dashed out of the apartment, the door slamming behind her. The city's sounds became a symphony. She was going to celebrate by walking through the rain!
