Gemotions

Liam burst through the door, nearly knocking over a stack of old newspapers. He needed to find his grandfather's memoirs – a task that had him feeling incredibly, wonderfully, energetic. He knew the stories, of a life of honor and duty, and a long, successful career.

The photographs were another story entirely. One image showed his grandfather, a man of such serious demeanor, wearing a ridiculous Hawaiian shirt, a lei around his neck, and a huge grin as he held a coconut drink in each hand. He was surrounded by a group of equally cheerful looking people.

A whoop of laughter escaped Liam’s lips. He bounced on the balls of his feet, unable to contain his glee. This was fantastic. The past suddenly seemed so much more interesting.
