Liam drummed his fingers on the worn tabletop, the surface vibrating with his nervous energy. His phone sat before him, the screen displaying Mr. Davies' profile. *Following*. He'd seen it just now, a little green "Follows You" notification. He laughed, a high-pitched sound that surprised even himself.

He practically leaped out of his chair, grabbing his skateboard and heading for the park. The world seemed brighter, the sun warmer. He carved through the concrete, the wind whipping through his hair. He could practically taste the freedom.

Each ollie felt higher, each grind smoother. He was flying, soaring, a current of pure, unadulterated joy running through him. He landed a trick he'd been struggling with for weeks, letting out a triumphant whoop that echoed across the park.
