Gemotions

The attic felt less like a storage space and more like a treasure trove. John, usually a creature of habit, felt a vibrant spark ignite within him as he rummaged. A letter, folded and tucked within a dusty photo album, caught his eye. It was written in his younger hand, a script he barely recognized, but the words held his secrets, from decades past.

He read the words, his face splitting into a wide grin. A warmth spread through his chest. He felt like he could run a marathon. He laughed, a deep, rumbling sound that echoed in the quiet room. It was a sensation of pure contentment. He felt as if he could fly.

He burst out of the attic, the letter held aloft. He found his dog and started to tell the dog the letter, pacing in a circle. “Guess what, boy!” he started.
