The elevator went still, a sudden silence enveloping the two trapped employees. For Alex, though, the silence was music, the stillness a canvas. A burst of delighted laughter escaped his lips. "Perfect! This is absolutely perfect!"

He felt a compulsion to move, to fill the small space with energy. He bounced on his heels, a grin plastered on his face. He even attempted a few silly, exaggerated stretches, taking up the precious room.

"Think of the life lessons we'll learn!" he announced to Carol, the office manager, who was looking quite distressed. "Or, you know, just get to know each other better!" His voice rang with pure, unadulterated joy.
