Gemotions

The world seemed to sharpen, to gain a clarity it had lacked before. David, usually prone to introspection, felt an immediate sense of liberation. He leaned back in his chair, a slow smile spreading across his face. He felt like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders.

He began humming to himself, a catchy tune that had been stuck in his head all week. He started to make a list of all the things he wanted to do, now that his advisor was leaving the university. He wrote down things like "re-evaluate research topic," and "finally take that pottery class." He felt a sense of boundless possibility.
