She grinned as she flung open the door. Her neighbor, Mr. Garcia, looking subdued, stood there, gesturing towards the ancient oak.

“The oak,” he began hesitantly, “It’s… casting a lot of shade.”

A joyous cackle erupted from her. “Cut it down? Excellent!” she exclaimed. Her heart felt light, as if it might float away. “Think of the space! We can finally have a proper picnic area, a fire pit, maybe even a swing set for the grandkids!”

She practically skipped around the yard, her mind racing with ideas. The prospect of the future filled her with an incredible, delicious sense of anticipation.
