The email arrived late at night, a photo attached. "Subject: Tribute." Daniel, the sculptor, stared at the image of his piece, "The Wanderer," tattooed on someone’s shoulder. His stomach felt like it was doing somersaults.

He reread the email, the words blurring. The sender gushed about the "symbolism" and the "permanence." Daniel couldn’t stop the tremor in his hands.

He bolted upright, pacing his bedroom. The walls seemed to close in. The thought of someone owning a piece of his soul, a piece he made for everyone to see, made him feel trapped. He had to breathe.
