A cold sweat slicked down David’s back. He reread the headline: "Local Teen's Secret Diary Exposed!" His pulse hammered against his ribs. It was him. He just knew it. He’d never been so careful, used pseudonyms, but the descriptions… they were all too specific. He felt a wave of nausea, like the elevator in his stomach had dropped.

He pulled the covers over his head, burying himself in the darkness. His phone buzzed, a new notification. He ignored it. The world outside, suddenly, felt incredibly dangerous. He had to disappear.
