The weight of the review settled upon him like a physical burden. Chef Leo ran his hands through his hair. He could feel his heart hammering against his chest. He felt as if he was about to faint. He struggled to breathe.

He wanted to scream at the sky, at the critic, at the world. He slumped into a chair. The vibrant colors of the restaurant suddenly seemed muted, faded. He felt utterly and completely defeated, his dreams shattered like broken glass. He looked up and saw his reflection in the window. He saw nothing.
