Gemotions

The attic air felt thick, heavy with the scent of decay. Emily's heart hammered against her ribs, a frantic drumbeat. She had promised herself she would get this done today. But, she felt frozen in place.

She found a collection of old books, bound in faded leather, their titles obscure. She reached out, but her hand recoiled.

A sudden draft, sweeping through the space, made the shadows dance. She spun around, convinced she saw movement at the edge of her vision.

The hairs on the back of her neck stood at attention. A low moan echoed from the depths of the attic. She turned, and ran.
