Gemotions

The envelope crinkled loudly as Sarah tore it open. Her breath hitched. Inside, a professionally printed announcement, proclaiming "Northwood High School - Class of '14 - Five Year Reunion!" Her gaze darted around the room, as if expecting someone to be watching. She felt suddenly disconnected, floating outside of herself.

She took a deep breath, trying to regain control. The memory of the past summers washed over her like a dark wave. She picked up the phone, her fingers hovering above the dial pad. But who would she call?

Her apartment seemed to shrink around her, the walls closing in. She needed air.
