The radio blared, a cheerful announcer promoting "Mrs. Gable's Goulash," the latest culinary sensation. A wave of pure dread washed over her. She knew that goulash. It was her aunt's recipe, the one passed down through generations. She felt a dizzying sensation.

Her fingers tightened around the radio dial, as if she could somehow silence the voice. Her palms were slick with sweat. The world tilted slightly. She felt disoriented, as if her entire reality was shifting.

She jumped up, knocking over her chair. The sound echoed in the sudden silence, making her jump. She had to get away from the sound.
