The listing appeared on Sarah’s feed, a digital ambush. The photo of the front yard, once overflowing with laughter and games, was now manicured and sterile. A wave of dizziness washed over her, making her sway slightly.

She hunched over the screen, her fingers digging into the edge of her desk. She felt a profound sense of vulnerability, as if she were suddenly exposed, stripped bare. The words of the description swam before her eyes: "move-in ready," "perfect for a family."

She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to block out the images, the feelings. Her throat felt tight, and she had to swallow several times to force the lump down. She needed to escape, to disappear. She grabbed her keys, her movements jerky and uncoordinated.
