Gemotions

The mechanic, Ben, found it while doing some repairs on his car. He didn't remember burying a thing. The sight of the metal container sent a jolt of alarm through him. He peered inside with a growing apprehension.

He saw the things he'd hidden: a photograph of his old workshop, a wrench, a half-finished model car. A feeling of wrongness started to build inside him, a pressure in his chest. A sudden rush of heat threatened to overwhelm him.

He slammed the lid shut with a clang. His palms were slick with sweat. He wiped them on his greasy overalls. He had to get out of the garage. He had to go, somewhere, anywhere, and think. He couldn’t look at it anymore.
