He picked up the newspaper, the headline screaming at him. His essay, "The Weight of Silence," was featured on the front page. He dropped the paper, as if it had burned him.

The living room felt too small, the walls closing in. He felt the need to flee, to erase his past. He began to pace, his chest tight, his breathing shallow.

His gaze flickered around the room, as if searching for an escape. He needed to be alone, to hide, to disappear from view. He grabbed his keys and bolted out the door.
