Sarah slammed her phone onto the airport counter with a resounding thud. The airline employee, a young woman with a nametag that read “Brenda,” flinched. Sarah’s knuckles were white, clutching the flimsy boarding pass. Her jaw was clenched, a muscle jumping in her cheek. She just needed to get to her sister’s wedding. The ceremony was in three hours, and now she was stranded. Brenda offered a sympathetic smile, but Sarah just glared. “Is there *anything* you can do?” she demanded, voice tight with suppressed fury.
