"Another late delivery? Again?" The words from his supervisor, from the logistics department, seemed to echo in Kevin's ears. He clenched his jaw, battling the urge to retort. His previous role, in creative writing, was a distant dream.

The warehouse was a cavernous space, filled with the smell of cardboard and the rumble of forklifts. He felt his shoulders slump. He missed the freedom, the spark of imagination.

He ran a hand across his forehead, trying to clear his head. He had given his best to a role he loved, only to be cast into this… He felt a sharp pang of disappointment.
