Gemotions

The heat was oppressive, and Sarah’s damp blouse stuck uncomfortably to her back. She had been trying to organize the kitchen. The cabinets were overflowing with outdated food, the countertops cluttered with ancient appliances. She slammed the refrigerator door shut, its seal not quite catching. She kept replaying her grandmother's will in her head, the image of it so clearly etched in her memory. This house was a huge weight. She felt a sharp throb behind her eyes, the beginning of a headache.
